Kamala Harris Finally Backs Crypto, Outraises Trump $189M to $44M in August Campaign

Kamala Harris finally showed public support for crypto. The Democratic presidential candidate is also taking the lead after outraising Trump $189M to $44M in August Campaign.

In a notable shift, Kamala Harris, the United States Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate, has broken her silence on crypto and revealed her perspective on the digital asset, according to a Bloomberg report.

At a fundraiser at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan, Harris pledged that, regarding digital assets and artificial intelligence, “I will bring together labor, small business founders and innovators, and major companies.”

She continued, “We will partner together to invest in America’s competitiveness, to invest in America’s future. We will encourage innovative technologies like AI and digital assets while protecting our consumers and investors.”

The crypto space has eagerly awaited Harris’s stance, hoping for a more favorable approach than President Joe Biden. With her recent endorsement of AI and digital assets, Harris has restated speculation about her crypto stance.

Harris vs. Trump

While it is a first for Harris, her rival, Trump, has been vocal about his pro-crypto stance. A peek at the Republican presidential candidate’s wallet revealed that he owned crypto assets, including Ethereum, Trump, MVP, Conan, BabyTrump, USDC, and a host of others.

Trump also revealed earlier this year that he would accept crypto donations for his campaign, attracting funds from notable individuals like Kraken’s co-founder, Jesse Powell, founders of Gemini crypto custodian, and the Winklevoss twins, Tyler and Cameron.

At the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Trump pledged to replace SEC Chairman Gary Gensler with a more crypto-friendly leader upon taking office, paving the way for a relaxed regulatory environment in the crypto space.

Harris Outraises Trump $189M to $44M in August Campaign; Polls Predicts 51% Chance of Victory

Despite Trump’s vocal support for cryptocurrency, Harris appears to be gaining traction and taking the lead in the presidential campaign.

Recent reports show that Harris raised more than $189 million, while Trump had only $44 million in the August campaign. Polymarket’s latest predictions indicate a 51% to 47% lead for Harris over Trump in the presidential election.
