Solana Mobile Launches Solana Seeker, its Latest Web3 Smartphone

Solana Mobile announced the launch of its latest Web3 smartphone Solana Seeker

Solana Mobile, a division of Solana Labs that specializes in developing mobile devices and software for the Web3 ecosystem, has launched its latest Web3 smartphone, Solana Seeker.

At the TOKEN2049 event in Singapore on Thursday, the company revealed that it will release the new Android phone designed specifically for web3 users in mid-2025.

Solana, discreetly unveiled Seeker, codenamed “Chapter Two,” in January, and announced today that the Web3 smartphone has secured over 140,000 pre-sales across 57 countries.

Solana Mobile Seeker’s Predecessor, Saga

Solana’s Seeker mobile comes after the mobile company launched its first Web3 smartphone in May last year. At first, Saga struggled to gain traction, receiving poor reviews from both tech experts and crypto users.

However, in December 2023, Solana Mobile’s limited stock of 20,000 Saga phones sold out rapidly in the U.S. and Europe, fueled by the surge in popularity of Bonk (BONK). This Solana-based memecoin experienced a staggering 1,000% price increase.

In a similar occurrence, the presale demand for Seeker devices surged in April, following the airdrop of two popular cat-themed memecoins, Maneki (MANEKI) and Cat in a Dogs World (MEW) tokens.

Regarding the latest enhancements to Seeker, Solana Co-Founder and Solana Labs CEO Anatoly Yakovenko, stated, “We founded Solana Mobile with the mission of taking crypto mobile.”

“To achieve that, we needed to make Seeker more accessible, more affordable, and for its hardware and software to be even more deeply integrated for web3. The support from across the Solana community so far has been incredible, and with features like the new Seed Vault Wallet and the updated Solana dApp Store, we think Seeker will be the definitive web3 mobile device when it comes out next year.”

Solana New Features in Seeker

According to Solana Mobile, its new Seeker smartphone boasts an array of innovative features including better hardware unlike Saga, a Seed Vault Wallet, and a Seeker Genesis Token.

In addition, the mobile company has updated its dApp Store, providing users with a more cost-effective alternative to Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
